Beautiful Mind is better than Fair Complexion

Beauty is not the face, but it is the light in the heart. There is much difference between looking beautiful and feeling beautiful. The term ‘beauty’ refers to the inner beauty. Inner beauty is based on personality traits such as attitude and the behaviour. Fair complexion is about the look, about the colour that brings difference in people.

The sale of fairness cream makes it clear that to have fair complexion is an obsession of our society, some people want fair complexion as it has become a parameter to judge a person’s beauty. The trend is ruling our mind as well as the TV shows. There is a clear discrimination being carried across our country, society, between relationship and friendship etc.

For the progress of the country, we have to get rid of all these narrow-minded attitude and focus on building a society where each individual is beautiful from inside.

Chhutki and the Kind Fairy

There was a little girl whose name was Chhutki. She was very poor. One day she told her mother that she wants to go to school like other children. But her mother had no money to send Chhutki to school. She was very upset. She told Chhutki, “I don’t have money to fulfil your dreams. We are very poor. But dear daughter, someday one fairy will come and give us a lot of money. And from that money I will surely send you to school.”

Chhutki wondered when that fairy will come. Whole day she kept waiting for that kind fairy.

That night Chhutki fell asleep thinking about the fairy and school. In her dream, a beautiful fairy appeared before her. She hold her hand and took her inside a beautiful palace. In that palace there were many chocolates, candies, toys, ice creams etc. She asked Chhutki to take any of these things.

Chhutki said, “Dear fairy, I don’t want chocolates or candies. I want to study like other children. I wish to go to school.”

Fairy was very happy to hear what Chhutki said. Fairy said, “Chhutki, you are not like other children. Even after seeing these things you focused on what actually you wanted. I am happy. Your wish will come true.”

Saying this the fairy disappeared. Chhutki opened her eyes and to her surprise she found that her small hut has been turned into a big house and beside her a bag full of gold coins was kept. She woke up her mother and told everything to her.

Her mother thanked the fairy. The next day Chhutki got admission in a big school. Chhutki started to go to school every day. She studied very hard and scored good marks. Chhutki completed her studies and now she is the Principal in a big school.

Fight Until You Reach The Goal……

“ If fate is out to defeat you, if fate is out to dishearten you, never give up, do not loose faith and importantly heart, set up a good fight until you defeat fate”.
Victory is always possible for the person who refuses to stop fighting. Such is the positive thinking that great men have given to the rest of the fellow human beings. The great scientist A.P.J.ABDUL KALAM, who dared to spell out a vision for a country, was a person who fought his way from the streets of Rameshwar , Tamil Naidu to the top of Scientific community in India. He worked as a newspaper vendor and he even had to sell his sister’s ornaments for his education. His mind was ignited with dreams for India’s development not only in technology, but also in the development of it’s teeming millions. It is this dream that kept him going till his last breath. King Bruce, who drew inspiration from the spider when he was defeated in his seventh successive battle and had taken refuge in a cave, is an inspiration for all of us. These people never allowed fate or failure to overtake them. At the end , I would like to remind everyone about the message which Swami Vivekananda gave to young men and women “ Arise, awake and stop not until the goal is reached “.

The Event of My Inspiration

This memory has embedded deep inside my heart. We all have our insecurities but being bullied about your insecurities is horrific. When we hear people saying bad things about us we start to feel insecure.

When I was eight, I had this obsession of makeup. Well I would basically wear it every morning; even in online classes! This was just because I was insecure about myself. Each time I tried to build myself confidence, my head would be flooded with questions like, ‘Am I good enough?’, ‘What if I’m not?’, ‘What if I mess this up?’ since in second grade I would get bullied because of not being pretty enough.

Everyone used to say that I would not be able to achieve anything in life. After six months of suffering this finally broke me. I used to wake up at 5:30 a.m just to do my makeup. Now that I think about this, I feel sick. How did I let others treat me like that!

The moral of the story is- don’t pay attention to judgment. People’s job is to judge the insecure and break them. Feel good about yourself no matter what and as the saying goes, ‘You may still lose when everyone believes you, but you will win if you believe in yourself.’

Self Confidence

“We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.” —Marie Curie

Self confidence is a super power. Once you start to believe in yourself, magic starts happening. Having a healthy level of self-confidence can help you become more successful in your personal and professional life.

Self-confidence is an attitude about your skills and abilities. It means you accept and trust yourself and have a sense of control in your life. You know your strengths and weakness well, and have a positive view of yourself. You set realistic expectations and goals, communicate assertively, and can handle criticism.

On the other hand, low self-confidence might make you feel full of self-doubt, be passive or submissive, or have difficulty trusting others. You may feel inferior or be sensitive to criticism. Feeling confident in yourself might depend on the situation. For instance, you can feel very confident in some areas, such as academics, but lack confidence in others, like co- Curricular activities.

Having high or low self-confidence is rarely related to your actual abilities, and mostly based on your perceptions. Perceptions are the way your think about yourself and these thoughts can be flawed.

Low self-confidence might stem from different experiences, such as growing up in an unsupportive and critical environment, judging yourself too harshly, or being afraid of failure. People with low self-confidence often have errors in their thinking.

So there are certain ways by which one can increase confidence in oneself-

*Recognize and emphasize your strengths. Reward and praise yourself for your efforts and progress.

*When you stumble on an obstacle, treat yourself with kindness and compassion.

*Set realistic and achievable goals. Do not expect perfection; it is impossible to be perfect in every aspect of life.

*Slow down when you are feeling intense emotions and think logically about the situation.

*Recognize that past negative life experiences do not dictate your future.

*Express your feelings, beliefs and needs directly and respectfully

*Learn to say no to unreasonable requests.

My Idea of Freedom

Freedom seems to be just a simple word; but no, this word cannot be given a specific meaning. Its meaning differs in every culture, city and people. If we ask what is freedom, everybody will give a different answer. Bookish meaning of freedom means, ‘state of mind in which we are free to act according to ourselves.’ But if we wonder what freedom is; we see birds flying in the sky, animals freely roaming around the fields, children playing in the park. We see that they all are free but maybe according to them they are not free.

According to me, real freedom is to live freely on Earth. Every human being lives on Earth with love and prosperity with the other living things. There should be no fight between humans based on religion, caste and creed. There should be no killing and violence. Everybody should be treated equally. Today humans are in danger because of their own fellow beings. No one is safe, neither animals nor humans. Children cannot move freely, women are not at all safe. So when we change these differences, then only we should know that we are actually free. It is important that you do not just have right to do but can choose happiness over adjustments. Freedom means free state of mind and heart.
