Annual Sports Meet,’Confluence – 25 | Annual Sports Meet

Annual Sports Meet,‘Confluence – 25’ was hosted by Bridgeford School, Tupudana with an influential figure of Indian cricket and one of the greatest batters of all time , Padma Bhushan & Arjuna Awardee, Honourable Mr. Sunil Gavaskar.

The event began with the welcoming of national icon and batting maestro, Mr.Sunil Gavaskar. The lighting of the torch with Confluence spirit and oath – taking ceremony by senior Sports Captain of the school set the tone of the day.

The atmosphere at Bridgeford turned electric as Mr. Sunil Gavaskar received a standing ovation from the crowd.The Chief Guest declared the Sports Meet open which was followed by symbolic release of the colourful balloons.

The Chairman of the school encouraged everyone to participate to the best of their ability and enjoy the day, fostering a sense of camaraderie and fun. The Vice – Chairperson in her speech highlighted that Bridgeford always believes in nurturing not only academic excellence but also physical fitness and teamwork. The Principal spoke about the vision and motto of the school which have been truly implemented to make this school successful for the last 25 years.

The Sports Meet was featured on an array of exciting events, including 100 – meter and 200 – meter sprints ,hurdle race , relay race, sack race and three – legged race. A vibrant atmosphere enveloped the school ground when a battle of cricket was enthusiastically fought by the students on the pitch, in the presence of ‘Master of Technique’.A short but thrilling match ensured a fast-paced and exciting contest, showcasing the promising talent of the young participants.The presence of ‘Little Master’ served as a massive inspiration for them. He was seen applauding good shots and encouraging the fielders.He praised the enthusiasm and discipline displayed by the young players, emphasizing that sports teach invaluable life lessons like teamwork and accepting defeat gracefully.He also suggested the children not to blindly copy others, but use their unique skills to develop their own game.

A series of vibrant and spirited dance performances,showed the students’ cultural talent and also added an artistic dimension to the athletic events. These energetic performances kept the audience engaged in celebrating the theme of unity and athletism.The students also showcased their flexibility through various yogasanas.

Trophies and certificates were given to the top three winners in each category of sports .In 200 m Sprint ( Boys) Vishal Sanga,Gautam Kumar and Ayush Tirkey grabbed first , second , third respectively, in 200 m Sprint (Girls) Priyansha Palak ,Kalpana Gari , Vaishnavi Shahdeo got first , second , third respectively, and in 110 m Hurdle Race (Boys ) Reetik Ansh Tirkey, Vishal Sanga , Pratulya Sanehal  grabbed first, second and third positions respectively in Group A .

The event concluded with the flag retreat, a vote of thanks followed by National Anthem. It was truly a reminder for all of us that champions aren’t made in the gyms, champions are made from something they have inside them, a desire, a dream and a vision.
